Royal Wedding In Devon

Friday the 29th was a very memorable day for many as millions probably even billions of people who watched the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. I was tasked by an agency to capture some of the celebrations with a twist. First stop was to the Big Sheep in Bideford where they where showing the wedding on the big screens. This was great for many parents as the kids could play in the EWEtopia playground whilst mum and dad watched the wedding. At the park they had some local musicians entertaining the customers and also the animals. Only a couple of days ago there was some goats born as I was in the pen stroking the newborn baby goat I turned round to find another goat with its eyes on my camera ( note to self don't leave you camera in a goat pen).

Then it was off to Bideford and Clovelly to caputure some more street party's.

Happy Easter with the Big Sheep

Hope everybody had a great Easter? I happened to spot the Easter bunny the other day at the Big Sheep in Bideford Devon. Every year they have a big Easter Egg Hunt and I was the there takings some PR Photographs to promote this years event.

Plymouth Wedding Photography

Last week I was photographing the wedding day in Plymouth of Cheryll Collings and Tristram Mills. The weather was very kind to them and both the Bride and Groom looked fab.

The Plymouth wedding took place at the City museum and art gallery followed the reception at the Royal Corinthian yacht club. The bride and groom had some shots taken on the Plymouth Hoe

The Watersmeet Hotel Photoshoot

Last week I was commissioned by a marketing company from Bristol to photograph a very nice hotel at Combesgate near Woolaombe Devon.

The Hotel Built in 1907 as an Edwardian Gentleman's residence by the sea, Watersmeet has been gently transformed over the years into an elegant country house hotel it over looks the beach and is only a few minutes walk to the village of woolacombe.

The photography brief was to drive photographs consisting of both interior and exterior shots as well as some food photography and lifestyle photography on the beach.

I couldn't resist getting the hotel manager Stephen to test the water out I think the verdict was it wasn't too bad........................................................

Pole Fitness Photo-Shoot

On Sunday I was in Barnstaple Photographing the Students and Instructors at Pole Affinity.

Historically, the art of pole dancing began in the 1920`s in America. Dancing companies would travel around the country and perform in tents. The poles that were holding the tents up began to be used as a prop by the dancers to enhance their routines. The pole dance then evolved from the tents to burlesque and bar environments during the 1950`s and took on a more erotic form of entertainment. Using a pole to perform any routine involves a blend of gymnastics and dancing therefore pole dancing is regarded as a performing art. In the Chinese culture for example, the pole is used within the cabaret and circus environment for artistic and acrobatic stage performances.

These Ladies have some serious strength I couldn't even hold myself on a pole let alone hang upside down suspended by one leg. The Students Ranges from beginner to advanced and came from all over North Devon.

Bump 2 Baby Magazine Prize Winners

Meet Vicki, Danny and Annie Meadows who are the lucky winners of the winter issue 2010 of Devon and Cornwall Bump 2 Baby magazine.

They won prizes ranging from a car seat, a pushchair, Moses basket, children's trike, signed paintings, books and many more.

We donated a portrait sitting at our Barnstaple Photography Studio to the magazine so the Meadows family came to the studio this week.

Vapour Clothing shoot for Front Magazine

A couple of weeks ago we did a photo-shoot at our Barnstaple studio for the clothing brand that seems be spreading across the globe faster than than swine flu.

Any Ley (Vapours MD) set us a brief that the company needed some shots for their advert in Front Magazines February edition.

Saturday Night was the final of Miss Great Britain at Weston Super Mare on the newly refurbished Grand Pier.

57 regional winners took part in the grand Final.

I was there taking pictures for a national press agency.

Christmas Time is Nearly Here

It's been a little while since my last blog, the last couple months have been pretty busy.

As I write this there are 29 Sleeps 11 hours and 30 minutes till Christmas. I know it feels like it its comes round earlier every year.

We now have Portrait Sitting Gift Certificates available these cost £35 and include a 6x4 mounted print. These can be used for Pets, Family, Kids, Adults, Babies and Bumps.

Although we are open right up till December 23rd the cut off for deliveries in time for Christmas is 13th however CD/DVD's can be order right up until the 23rd December.

On the 19th and 20th November 2010 for this years this years Children in need in November we are running a competition Called 'Funny Faces' at our photography studio in Barnstaple - aimed at Kids and Adults to come in and pull a funny face in front of the camera.

Severn Sands Breaks Free

600 tonne Severn Sands dredging vessel has drifted 2 miles by the highest tide of the year from its mooring at Fremington Barnstaple were it has been based for the past 2 years when the boats owner 'Mr. Barns' Left it there. He was originally going to turn it into a museum however that failed to evolve and instead a pirate flag was put up. On board the are an estimate 1000 tires 4000 liters of Oil 30-40 drums of unidentified fluids and gases also on board are cans of paint and Asbestos, North Devon Councilor 'Rodney Cann' Said (This is an environmental time bomb waiting to go off)

The vessel last night had a 50% chance of colliding with the Barnstaple downstream bridge causing chaos to the north Devon traffic and main road into Barnstaple.Also in danger of being stuck by the vessel were a number of house boats that are moored along the river Taw.

This Morning the a full scale operation involving the Police, Coast Guard, The enviroment agency and Militry to move the Vessel to a jetty at yelland however it was unsafe to do so so it was pushed by a tugg boat to the edge of the shore at Chivenor

Hectic Few Days

Manic weekend, I was best man and my best friend lees wedding in north devon on saturday hottest day of the year and we were dressed in 3 piece suits it was a tad warm.

Sunday I was working at the Eden Project at the Eden Sessions photographing Diana Vickers and Mika. Both artists perform cracking shows I've had some pics of Diana published on the Mail Online.

On Monday Joni and Nicolas Gregoire asked me to do photo shoot with a twist with them in there wedding getup. I photographed them on the 5th June this year at there Devon Wedding Joni's Dress was soaked and covered in sand had a brill time with both of them splashing around in the sea trying not to get the camera gear soaked.

Lydia Cross Help For Heros

On Friday Last week I went to Braunton to photograph the little star Lydia Cross run a mile for Help For Heroes, she was joined by Ex servicemen Mark Ormrod and Ben Mcbean.

Lydia has raised over £14,000 for Help for Heroes, she was recently given a blue peter badge and on Saturday she was awarded the Rotary Young Citezen award.
